Cambridge International publishes grade threshold tables per syllabus code (for example 9709) after each series. Those tables answer: “What raw total / option code earned an A this session?”
Edexcel IAL Maths answers a different question: “What raw mark on this unit paper maps to which UMS, and do my cashed-in units meet the overall grade?”
So:
- A Cambridge 9709 A boundary does not tell you whether your WMA12 raw mark is “safe.”
- An IAL unit UMS of 80 is not the same object as a Cambridge PUM of 80 on a different qualification.
